Let's get this out of the way since I'm posting several days in a roll. Jackie and Neil worked tirelessly on the phone and emails to find our luggage all day and once I got a functional phone I was working calling them also, it finally showed up on Tuesday and we were happy to have fresh clothes.
York is a walled city designed to keep the Vikings out. We spent the day wandering about it's winding streets and popping in and out of pubs. The city goes back to Roman days 306 AD. Great day!
Special Thanks !
Neil & Jackie Morris have taken two weeks of their vacation plus countless more hours researching and planning this trip. Thanks to a wonderful couple!

Day 3 London: Kevin
We knew this wasn't going to be the best day with a 6 hour difference from Chicago to London. Delta bounced us around and they finally put us on another airline and for that we were grateful. What we weren't grateful for was that they left our luggage in Chicago. Then we met Jackie and Neil at the airport and the world was bright and new again. Dumped our carry on bags and headed to downtown London. Albeit I have been to big cities but it was only changing planes in airports or the freeway passing through to somewhere else. My first plunge. Rode a double decker bus then caught the subway "The Tube" and emerged in Piccadilly Circus. No elephants or clowns to be found. WOW every direction for miles there was beautiful old buildings, monuments, statues and people from what seemed every corner of the world, And exotic CARS!! cars I used to see only in magazines or TV shows zipping through and around traffic as is if they were common commuters. Neil and Jackie showed us around parks, palaces, embassies, pubs and so many others I can't begin to list. To put it bluntly it was a very long and amazing day!

Day 2 - Airport Woes
Up early, breakfast, pack, shuttle off to the airport. Silly us for thinking everything would go smoothly. Our flight from Chicago to New York was delayed several times and then finally cancelled. Kevin to the rescue! After phone calls to Delta, we landed a British Airways flight to London, Heathrow. Non-Stop! Travel to new terminal 5, L...O...N...G time in the line to check in, but finally got our boarding passes AND seat assignments, back thru security. Now having a drink and waiting to board.
Hope to sleep on flight over and be bright and bushy tailed to meet up with Jackie and Neil for the start of our UK adventures!!!

Day 2 O'Hare
Airlines:
Patience and flexibility are a necessity for air travel. After booking our flights in December our flights have been changing over the last month. Today Delta change our flight to JFK several times before canceling the flight. After a few phone calls they now have us on a non-stop flight to London on British Airways. Not sure how or why but we are rolling with the changes. Having to go through the scanning process twice was a bummer. So drinks will erase that trama away. London bound!
